Analyst - Community Investment Team

Occam Advisors is a leading impact investment consulting firm based in Portland, Oregon, working in long-term partnership with foundations and family offices to deploy investment capital for social and environmental impact. We work with place based investors across sectors such as economic development, affordable housing, healthcare, education and food systems and the environment. Examples of current engagements include managing the Oregon Impact Fund, a statewide impact lending program, for The Oregon Community Foundation and advising Potencia Ventures, a family office that invests in companies in the US and Latin America serving low-income people through education and employability
Occam Advisors is looking for a talented, driven person with strong organizational and written communication skills to join our team in Portland. This person will work primarily in support of one or more of our community foundation clients in Oregon, Washington, California and Hawaii researching investment opportunities, assisting in investment due diligence, tracking the financial and impact performance of portfolios, and drafting memos and client presentations.
While the role does not require specific experience, the ideal candidate will have an interest in community development and impact investing. A proven ability to manage and improve processes with attention to detail is strongly preferred.
Activities

Activities
- Assist one or more client leads who manage a regional investment strategy
- Build strategy presentations for current and prospective clients
- Develop and maintain processes for investment opportunity tracking
- Draft recommendation memos on investments for clients
- Collect and report on impact and financial performance of a portfolio of fund and individual investments
- Write concise research reports on individual investments, sectors and impact investing for the client and broader audiences
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated research abilities and attention to detail
- Strong organizational and process improvement skills
- Familiarity with financial analysis
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Interest in impact investing, nonprofits, and financial markets
- $55,000 annual salary
